A number of volunteers attended the final BMAD Bike Night at Paignton on Wednesday 30th September where the charity was also presented with a cheque for £5000. We were one of four charities presented with a donation on the evening which also featured live music on stage.
On Saturday 25th October, Devon Freewheelers were the guests of Newton Abbot Rugby Club for their game against Exmouth. We have been selected as the clubs nominated charity for the 2014/2015 season, following on from lasts years’ decision to support the Devon Air Ambulance, so we are in good company!
On Sunday 28th September, Sainsbury's Dartmouth branch organised a quiz night to raise funds for Devon Freewheelers. This was just another in a series of events that the store have been undertaking over recent months to support the charity.
Despite a slightly damp start, somewhere around 2000 bikes turned out for the Annual Plymouth Megaride on Sunday 17th August. A wide variety of motorbikes, scooters and trikes coming out in force to support two local charities Measure(Scope) and Diabetes UK.
Customers at The Exchange public house in Ivybridge recently helped to swell the coffers of Devon Freewheelers by supporting a fellow regulars fund raising activities.

Life in the West of the region can be quite hectic at times, Derriford Hospital keep us busy most nights with various tasks in and around Plymouth, and even to odd excursion down into Cornwall.
Darren Parsons crew & The Volunteer Inn, Honiton has organised another DFW rideout again for us this year. It is a fantastic day trundling around the county for a couple of hours with a BBQ in Lyme Regis, then back to The Volunteer Inn for the live entertainment.
This weekend see the annual BMAD Bike Festival taking place on the green behind Paignton Sea Front Promenade. Always a great spectacle, this year promises to be a cracking event with loads of exhibitions and events taking place from 6:00pm on Friday evening throughout the weekend until close of play on Sunday.
Well that was some weekend!! Took the mini-moto and some banners down to Paignton on Friday evening and ended up staying on the stand most of the night. That just about set the standard for the rest of the weekend.
Well it has been a few months since I last wrote a blog here so I thought it was time to have another go. Since last time I wrote we have recruited 2 new green riders, Rob Jones and Gordon "Chey" Johnson so at least I can have a bit of a rest!
