I thought I would make a quick blog about the Christmas week in the west, not because it has been busy it's been a very quiet one. Pretty much just the routine jobs we pick up from the Dialysis Unit on Estover Road.
Today was the day that saw Margaret Williams being encouraged by Dan and other members of Devon Freewheelers fill her trolley in a 60 second Trolley Dash around the Honiton Tesco.
Today the Honiton Tesco Trolley Dash Draw took place. John Capon from Otter Windows selected the winning ticket looked on by the Store Manager as well as a couple of members of Devon Freewheelers. The Winner was Margaret Williams who will be rushing around the store to fill up on produce before the Christmas shoppers get there chance.
Today, members from the north of the county attended The Supported Learning Christmas Markey at Petroc Collage.
We would like to thank the customers of Sainsburys in both Torpoint and Dartmouth and the customers of Tescos (Tranist Way Plymouth) who over the last week hosted members of Devon Freewheelers allowing us to collect money, and hand out information leaflets.
Les and Terry attended the Ottery St Mary Guides’ Christmas Carol service. Les gave a brief talk about Devon Freewheelers. The bike was in a central position in the church causing a great deal of interest, raising a lot of questions after the service.
Not for the first time, one of our bikes has managed to find itself amoung the pues in a church, this time it was supporting Braunton Guides who organised a Christmas Carol Service as part of the Devon Guides year of fundraising for us.
Honiton families could be in with a chance of winning a trolley-load of food and raise much-needed funds for a lifesaving charity in the town.
The final BMAD bike night at Paignton was very well attended with plenty of visitors. Devon Freewheelers managed to get 6 marked bikes to the event over the course of the evening with riders coming from all over the county, though inevitably a couple of our bikes and riders had to shoot off to carry out jobs.
We are pleased to announce that the planning for the Honiton Sausage & Cider Festival is well underway. We are currently setting up the Festival's website where we will update first with all the confirmed artists and details.
