Devon Freewheelers are delighted to receive to further additions to the fleet in a deal brokered with Kawasaki UK which sees two new response bikes travelling back from their headquarters today.
A whole year of fundraising by the staff and customers of Otter Nurseries based in Ottery St. Mary, East Devon and the Sid Valley Rotarians also from East Devon has secured the entire purchase cost of one of the machines and the second from volunteers efforts with relentless fund raising activities around the county.
East Devon volunteer 'Mo' Ayling and Plymouth & South Hams volunteer Neil Gardner travelled to the Kawasaki HQ today (Friday 17th July 2015) to receive the hand over of the machines from Stephen Middleton, Kawasaki Authority Fleet Administer and Sales Manager.
One of the bikes shall remain in the East of the county based in Seaton and the second machine will be based in Ivybridge serving the South Hams and will be on active service from today. The addition of these bikes has expanded our fleet to 15 marked response bikes now serving the people of Devon.
I would personally like to thank everyone involved, our volunteers, supporters and Kawasaki for the continued help in securing this purchase and I am confident their presence in the county will benefit many in the years to come.
