The event was spurned on by the loss of Adam Smart aged 20 who was a supporter of Cornwall Freewheelers, Adam tragically lost his life following a road traffic collision earlier this year.
2000 handmade crosses were laid on the bridge to remember each of the bikers. The event was attended by Devon and Somerset fire brigade with them showing their support to bikers across the country. We had riders from Devon Freewheelers in attendance from across the county to join with our friends in Cornwall in a united show of unity.
All who attended had a great day with pedestrians wanting to walk past the bikes and see them up close rather than use the laid on transport. It is great to raise the awareness of our charities and also promote road safety.
Many thanks go out to Cornwall Freewheelers for the work they did in ensuring the event went ahead, it would be great to see a similar event being held next year.
