A number of volunteers attended the final BMAD Bike Night at Paignton on Wednesday 30th September where the charity was also presented with a cheque for £5000. We were one of four charities presented with a donation on the evening which also featured live music on stage.

We are now in the 13th year of BMAD (Bikers Make A Difference) which has seen the biking community raise thousands of pounds for worthy causes. All the money raised at both the Wednesday Bike Nights and the Festival go to charities, which include - Sick and disabled children and their families/carers of Torbay, Devon Air Ambulance and St John Ambulance.

This years festival in May was the most successful since the event started in 2003, and next year promises to be even bigger. Due to an unfortunate run of inclement weather a number of the weekly bike nights had to be cancelled throughout the season but nothing dampened the crowds enthusiasm as each charity stepped onto the stage to receive their cheques from event founder Kelvin Halloran.

Plans are already afoot for next years events and Devon Freewheelers will continue to support BMAD by attending as many Bike Nights as possible.

This years final festival had an incredible turn out of 803 bikes alone, and raised an impressive £1000 which will be passed to worthy causes in the Paignton/Torbay area. The BMAD committee have also had created a BMAD 2016 Calendar with proceeds going to the good causes.
