The ride out is planned for Sunday August 21st, 2011 and will be followed by a BBQ at the Volunteer Inn on their return. Daniel Lavery, chairman and founder of the Honiton based charity would like the whole town to support the event.
We are out there at all times of the day and night serving our local community and we would love everyone to come along and support this fantastic event.
DFW emergency response riders will be joining the ride out on their own machines along with a small army of supporters from the BMAD bike nights in Paignton (Bikers Make a Difference – another charity organisation who purchased a bike for the Devon Freewheelers)
Honiton has its own army of bikers, such as the Royal British Legion Riders based in the town and every person who owns a machine, from a moped to a super bike are being encouraged to join in and ride along.
On return from the ride out, the Landlady of the Volunteer Inn has offered the Devon Freewheelers the use of the BBQ to try and raise some extra funds. “This is starting to shape up into an exciting event. We are hoping to have a load of food donated by any sponsor who wishes to support us for the BBQ.
It’ll be great for the people of Honiton to get involved, join in, meet the volunteers in the rather apt venue – The Volunteer Inn.” Further details about the event will be published in the Midweek Herald on the run up to the event with details of the meeting time and the route. This article will also be updated as and when information arrives.
This event is also hoping to attract new volunteers to sign up and join the Devon Freewheelers and anyone interested in doing so should go to the Contact us link and send in their details.
