This event is aiming to be the largest bike ride in the history of the volunteer with groups from all across the county expressing interest. Already, the ISCA SCOOTER CLUB, ST JAMES SCOOTER CLUB, THE EXMOUTH BIKE GROUP, PLYMOUTH MEGA RIDE, THE JURASSIC COAST BIKERS, THE PAIGNTON BIKERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE 'BMAD', THE PLYMOUTH HARLEY OWNERS GROUP; THE DEVON AND CORNWALL POLICE RIDERS CLUB, DEVON ADVANCED MOTORCYCLISTS, to name but a few!! So far, approx 200 bikers have suggested they may be coming along! This is fantastic news for the Volunteer Inn organisers - Mr Darren Parsons and Rob Waldron.
To mark the event, the Volunteer Inn Landlady 'Christine' has also laid on a live band, to entertain us on our return, along with the DFW celebrity chefs hard at work on the griddles offering their culinary skills on the BBQ!!!
A rather impressive Raffle has also come together with the amazing effort of Charlie Haggerty and his family contacts, extorting donations from Bridge Motorcycles, Speed Motorcycles, SP Motorcycles, Marks & Spencers, with a Nitro Helmet, Triumph clothing, Polo shirts, DFW Polo shirts, shopping vouchers, all being added to the Raffle prize list. Tickets on sale now, at only £1 per strip (5 tickets per strip) offering everyone an excellent chance of going home with a prize!
The Devon Freewheelers are keen to register as many new members as possible on the day, with the chance of meeting the DAM representatives for advanced motorcycle training and meeting the emergency response volunteers who can provide them with any additional information about the charity.
The ride out meets at 10:00hrs at the Volunteer Inn for any strangers to the town, as it is extremely simple to find, following this they will be escorted to the Co-Op car park where they will depart at approx 1030hrs.
The ride will take them along the A375 towards Sidmouth and then follow east bound on the A3052 towards Bridport & Weymouth, then north towards Dorchester, Yeovil, joining tha A303 at Hazelgrove Services, and then back to Honiton via the A303/A30.
