Excitement is growing in the Devon Freewheelers camp as our new community begins to grow. Firstly, a massive congratulations and many thanks to our webmaster for doing such an excellent job on the website and I'm sure it will blow everyone away when it's completed. I have been asked recently about the General Meeting, and I have suggested a date and time and I am awaiting confirmation, I suggest everyone keeps a close eye on the website and it will be the instant answer for most questions once we have all settled into its operation.

The calendar will be the place to watch for most things including meetings etc. My original induction sheet is well superseded due to the massive demand for new members. A new central meeting point in Exeter is be arranged due to members literally being spread all over the county! There's even some in Cornwall, which is something we will discuss at the AGM.

Fundraising is going to have to be a massive focal point at the meeting and I'm urging everyone now to come with ideas or plans for the Christmas season. As everyone will be aware, there are massive cut backs all over the country and the NHS have not missed out, which in turn will mean even more work for us, considering we offer a FREE service. They'll love that; but we need to be able to cover it.

All of Devon Freewheelers insurance policies have been increased/upgraded to cover everyone and anyone, regardless of age or role within the charity. These include Employers Liability, Public Liability, Product Liability, Trustee Liability, Community Risk Liability, Red Star cover for everyone on the bike, to name a few! These have been a massive hit to the bank account, but were essential.

These policies will be added to the members area and are restricted documents, anyone planning an event or fundraising activity will be asked to produce these documents so to make it easier for you to do so, we have done all we can to assist. Any events must have Committee approval so one, we know what going on, and two, we can make necessary arrangements to assist you.

We have an exhibition display board which is about 3m square when it's set up, loads of posters, collecting buckets, collecting cans, stickers and more. You only need to ask!! If your event is on the calendar then there is no risk of this equipment being double booked. The bike is available as well, if you need it, and it is an excellent tool for bringing the public to you.

Anyhow, I'll keep in touch and thank you for signing up everyone. Please get everyone you know to join the website and register their details, even better, set it as your homepage, I have!! Our webmaster very cleverly puts latest info right at the top, so everytime I switch on, I'm kept up to date. Well done Drakey!

Best regards one and all.
